My EnVie story started with getting a flyer in the letterbox! I had been thinking of doing ‘something different’ during the months before. Middle-age had arrived and with it came extra kilos. I had dieted in the past, a weigher at Weight Watchers for 10 years!
But this time nothing was working. So flyer in hand I called, spoke to BJ and was asked to come down for a chat. I had never been to a gym in my life, so at 55 it was a HUGE step, but something had to change and I was ready.
I was asked ‘what I wanted to achieve’ – I decided I would try to attend two evenings a week; I wanted to feel fitter and to lose some weight.
I partook in the 6 week challenge, when I realised this was really working for me. I was feeling better, had more energy and was “HAPPIER”. I started doing more classes and now attend five mornings a week. I love the diversity of the classes, there’s nothing I rather do at 5:45am.
Even after having 6 weeks off from Surgery, the trainers have been a wonderful support getting me back on track. The trainers are great to talk to and help with injuries and strains.
I have completed another Challenge which was really motivational. I have met and become friends with many of the ladies from ‘our’ group at 5:45am. We have a great time motivating and supporting each other.
Last year I did the Neon Run, the Upstream Challenge (50km walk) and climbed Ben Nevis on my trip to Scotland, (9hrs-highest mountain in Scotland). I would have never have believed I could ever have achieved all this without the help and support from BJ, Crystal and the Team at EnVie Berwick. Oh yes and I lost 12kg along the way and found some muscle definition - which I love!
Life is good - thanks EnVie
